Captain Underhill in ‘The Queen is in the Counting House’

  1. William Marcario says:

One of my all time favorites…

  2. Pedantic Beekeeper says:

Male honey bees have no sting.

  3. Dear Pendantic, I wish I had had you around when this show was being
recorded. It has been so long ago I forget exactly how the script was
worded. I gather I should have said
Worker bee (although it makes me wonder what value males have in
protecting the Queen if they can’t sting?) You are the first person who
has pointed this out, and we thank you for catching it. How should I have put it?
Perhaps we can image that a protective female worker bee was attracted from out the
stands away from the rim of a Coca-Cola cup or the relish of a hot dog?
I will try to be more factually careful next time. This is the second
error that has been pointed out to us in our series of mysteries. The
other one is found in ‘Danger At Seven Mile Bend’ when the narrator says
that water flowing under a towboat is compressed before it reaches the
propellor (water is not compressible, that’s how hydraulics work, I should
have said channeled). Thank you again for taking the time to let us
know and I hope it didn’t spoil too much your enjoyment of the program.
    Sincerely, Steven Oney
